The European Parliament has adopted new rules to improve cross-border parcel delivery
On 13 March 2018 the European Parliament adopted the proposal for a regulation on cross-border parcel delivery services, with the aim of increasing the transparency of cross-border parcel delivery prices and improving the regulatory oversight of the EU parcel market, ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprises operating in this field.
The Court of Justice has ruled on the jurisdiction of national judges to hear an application for compensation for delays, in a case where the concerned airline has operated only the first leg of a connecting flight in a Member State other than that of the final destination
On 7 March 2018 the Court of Justice of the European Union held that, in the case of a journey with different flights which are part of a single booking, it is possible to sue an airline, that operated only the first leg of that connecting flight in one Member State, before the courts of the final destination in another Member State for compensation for delays.
